Episcopia, easily reachable from the State Road Sinnica, features an evocative castle of Norman origin which rises on a rock spur. Near the castle there is the Church of San Nicola from the 16th century: although it has been remodelled from the original layout, it preserves a 16th-century canvas of the Annunciation and a marble sculpture of San Nicola di Bari inside. There is also a wooden statue dating back to the sixteenth century depicting a Madonna and child. Not to be missed are the Convent and the Church of Sant’Antonio, while not far from the village we can reach the Sanctuary of Santa Maria del Piano, inserted in a completely new agro-pastoral context.
